THE THIRD QUARTER — Creating Through the Pressure

Sometimes you don’t make music because life is going perfectly.
You make music because you need somewhere for everything you’re going through to go.

The Third Quarter is another chapter from the period when LZThir13 was determined to build his catalog despite circumstances that made creating—and simply keeping life moving—difficult.

The title came from the calendar itself.

Summer was approaching its midpoint, the seasons were beginning to turn, and LZThir13 looked at the year as another opportunity to put more music into the world. The goal was simple: keep building. Keep recording. Keep creating. Keep expanding the catalog.

But real life doesn’t always cooperate with creative plans.

While LZThir13 was trying to establish himself as an independent artist, everyday struggles constantly competed for his attention. Yet instead of allowing those circumstances to completely silence the creativity, he continued putting material together.

That’s what makes The Third Quarter an interesting part of the story.

It captures an artist trying to build a future while dealing with the present.

There was no guarantee that the next opportunity would come.

No guarantee that the next album would change everything.

No guarantee that the circumstances would suddenly become easier.

So LZThir13 kept doing what he could control:

Creating.

The Third Quarter represents that mindset—the feeling of being somewhere in the middle of the journey, knowing there is still more ground to cover and more work to do.

It wasn’t the beginning.

It wasn’t the finish.

It was the third quarter.

And LZThir13 was still in the game.
