THE PREREQUISITE — Before the Movement
What happens when an artist refuses to stop creating—even when life is giving him every reason to?
The Prerequisite is the second volume in a four-album compendium, created during the same turbulent period in which LZThir13 was producing music while navigating difficult circumstances and searching for ways to remain creative.
This wasn’t a period of sitting comfortably and waiting for inspiration.
It was a period of making something out of uncertainty.
While life was changing around him, LZThir13 was building an increasingly ambitious body of work—four albums that became interconnected pieces of a much larger creative experiment.
And then came The Prerequisite.
Released on the 4th, the project became associated with a series of unusual numerical and cultural coincidences that led listeners to connect the project with 444. The conversation grew, and what began as music started generating discussion beyond the album itself.
Then came “Deep.”
Track #2 became particularly associated with the later “Drizzle Drizzle” conversation on TikTok, adding another unexpected chapter to the project’s story.
Whether you see those connections as coincidence, symbolism, timing, or something else entirely, one thing is undeniable:
The music created a conversation.
And that’s part of what makes The Prerequisite interesting today.
It’s not simply another album in the catalog.
It’s a document from a period when LZThir13 was producing music under pressure, experimenting with ideas, watching culture respond, and continuing to build despite circumstances that could have stopped the creative process altogether.
Four volumes.
One period of struggle.
One evolving creative vision.
And a project that found its way into conversations far beyond the music.
THE PREREQUISITE
Before the next chapter could happen, this had to happen first.
